WiFi APのリセットに関する注意喚起

Important Notice Regarding WiFi AP Reset

Thank you for your continued support. Recently, we have encountered several cases where the crew mistakenly reset the WiFi Access Point (WiFi AP) used for Crew Internet to its factory settings. To be precise, the cases occur when the crew presses the "reset switch" on the WiFi AP, which restores the device to its factory settings and results in the loss of all configurations. Although this reset switch is sealed with a sticker to prevent it from being pressed, it seems that some crew members intentionally remove the sticker and press the switch. With the growing use of Starlink, Crew Internet has become even more vital for the crew. In cases of minor connectivity issues, the crew often attempts to restore the connection by themselves, and therefore unintentionally activate the reset switch. Once the WiFi AP is reset to factory settings, it will require reconfiguration. However, since the settings are lost, remote access will no longer be possible, and special connection procedures will be necessary to restore functionality. In some cases, if the issue cannot be resolved remotely, the equipment may need to be offloaded for reconfiguration. Due to the additional work required, we will not be able to offer this support free of charge and will need to charge for the reconfiguration service. Please note that resetting the WiFi AP to its factory settings does not resolve the issue but instead leads to more complex recovery procedures. We would greatly appreciate it if you could raise awareness among the crew to help avoid this situation. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to your continued support of ORCA. With Best Regards,
