Our Vessel Network Management Device "ORiON PLUS" has the ability to control two connections of communication infrastructures and one connection of WiFi. However, there are more and more cases of installing multiple satellite communication infrastructures along with the complexity of vessel systems in recent years. Some of them have more than two VSAT devices installed, and an expectation has increased towards a more efficient way to operate such multiple communication infrastructures. ORiON L3 has been developed to comply with these new expectations. This device manages up to eight upstream communication infrastructures. And in ORiON PLUS, communication control is based on "switching". However, ORiON L3 realizes not only "switching" but also "simultaneous use of available lines". Please refer to the attached documents for details. Please note that ORiON L3 is not a replacement device for ORiON PLUS, but a device to realize "more sophisticated vessel communication control" in combination with ORION PLUS. Not all vessels need ORiON L3, and we will design it according to the complexity of the vessel's network and satellite communication infrastructure. As one guideline, please understand that ORiON L3 is expected to be installed when more than two VSAT systems are connected. The IT situation on vessels is becoming more and more complex with the introduction of IoT for vessel equipment, collection of navigational data, updating of charts, and web-based reporting to charterers.
